The day I will never forget is the day I was going for a trip to Mombasa. It was Friday when my mother and I made this trip. When the day came, I was very happy to go.

When the bus came, we left our home in Nairobi and got into the bus. When we were on the load, I was looking at some trees, animals and mountains.

When we were on the load a beautiful girl came beside me and asked me my name. I told her my name is Harrison and then I asked her for her name and she told me her name is Wanjiku.

Because the place we were going was near, I told her to give me her number so that when I got back to my house I could call her. We got out and we made our house of grass. After one month, we went back to our home. That day I will never forget.

One day I was walking along Nairobi Street when I saw a group of people standing around and shouting. When I went closer to them I saw a student lying down in the street.

When I looked at him I saw that he was a student that had come to swim along our village. Suddenly, I saw a bus from his school coming. When the bus stopped I saw the teacher and the other students get off.

When the students came out I asked them what had happened and they told me that some information was sent to them that one of their students had been killed in Nairobi.

One of their teachers called an ambulance and it came to take the body to the hospital to see where the student had been hurt. Since I was running late, I left the other students there and went to my business.

One month later, we met with the students that had come and they told me that the dead student had been beaten with stones and his head was hit with a gun. I told them “Do not be afraid, the world goes like that” and that I would see them another day.

I was walking along Kirinyaga Road when I met with a girl crying. When I asked her why she was crying she told me “I had wanted to borrow seventy shillings from my mother for a trip and then she stated beating me.”

I asked her if she wanted some of my money and she said yes. I reached into my pocket and gave her three hundred shillings for her trip. When I gave her that money I asked her name. Reah Njeri, she replied and then I told her my name is Harrison Njoroge.

Because her home was not far away she asked me “Can you see a red house at that hill?” I told her that I could see it and she told me “When you want to come to visit me, come there.”

After a week, I went to visit her. When I reached her house, I called her name and she came. She was very happy to see me and I was very happy to see her. I decided to take a walk with her and while we were walking I asked her if she had a boyfriend. She told me “No, I don’t have a boyfriend.” Then, I asked her is she could be my first girlfriend and see agreed.

I felt so happy because she was the first girl I had spoken with in my life and she agreed to be my girlfriend.

I asked her if she could come to my house to visit me and she said “yes I can come.” When she came, I made her a cup of tea and then we went for a walk around the village. Since she was in standard eight and I had finished standard eight, I asked her “Can I marry you when you are finished standard eight?” She told me “I will be yours and you will be mine.” When she finished school, I went to her house to get her and then we came to my house to meet my mother.

I told my mother, “This is my wife.” My mother did not believe that I had a wife. Now we are continuing with our lives.
